COLORADO FLOWERS at Madison Contemporary Fiber Artist show

UNTIL NOVEMBER 27  2015

Last summer had unusual rains, so there were more wild flowers in the Sangre de Cristos mountains.

In reading about Buddhism, Lama Surya Das had a daily To Do list.  Each day I embroidered his list to help me remember it.

CREATE   ENVISION
I called these Bee Balm, they were all over. Or they might be Rocky Mountain Beeplant.

This is a cactus blooming.

This is a magenta flower that only bloomed before noon. Possibly a Slenderleaf False Foxglove.
ENJOY   LAUGH
This may be a double aster.

GIVE THANKS
These were small purply pink asters.

TRUST IN THE BASIC GOODNESS

I’ve been reading books on Buddhism this summer.
I like to embroider phrases to embed them in my memory.
I do believe in basic goodness.

Memory Cloth – WHAT MAKES ME SPARKLE

When Linda Mundt Feng Shuied our house she taught us to ask “Does it make me sparkle?” about every object we owned.  That made a huge change in my thinking – I could always answer yes to “Could I imagine a use for this?”
